Bulgaria

Varna (Варна): third biggest city in Bulgaria and gateway to the Black Sea beaches, a lot of casinos and luxury hotels. Still, in spite of all this luxury, this is a backpackers spot on the budget-traveler route across Bulgaria. ►►►

Ruse (or Rousse – Pyce in Cyrillic) is usually seen as the gateway to Romania. Too often neglected by travelers, the city definitely has something to offer! ►►►

“Plus-Size Bulgaria: Vratsa” is the 2nd of a series of posts about my recent trip to Bulgaria. In a little less than 3 weeks, in September and October 2017, I have been around this country and discovered it through 6 different cities. ►►►

First stop: Sofia, the capital. The Bulgarian capital was both, the beginning and the end of my adventure in this Balkan country. It both started and ended on a high note. ►►►

Tomorrow is the big day. I will fly out of Montreal all the way to Sofia, Bulgaria! Needless to say how thrilled I am! One year after leaving for Peru, I fly out again, on the exact same day. ►►►

In case you missed the announcement on Facebook last week… I am glad to announce that I will be heading out to Bulgaria next September! It’s not my first time in Eastern Europe, but it’s the southernmost country in this part of the world on my travel list. thus far. With this upcoming trip, I will visit my 16th country in 8 years! ►►►
